This weekend expedition is a guided tour taking in the historic islands of the Garvellachs, then heading across to and paddling through the Corryvreckan. We will then head north, come back through the Grey Dogs and then spend some time exploring the slate islands of Belnahua and Luing.
The Firth of Lorn is one of the most spectacular paddling areas of the west coast of Scotland. The islands of the Garvellachs have such significant Scottish history about them, dating back 1500 years. The isles of Belnahua and Luing are more recent but every bit as interesting. Both the Corryvreckan and the Grey Dogs are legendary in the sea kayaking circles. The Corryvreckan has the third largest whirlpool in the world.
The saturday night will be spent in a bothy over looking the Corryvreckan with stunning views of Jura and the surrounding islands.
