Expeditions and Courses Terms & Conditions

By booking a course, trip or expedition with us, you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions:

  • You are physically fit for the course or expedition that you have chosen, and have informed Sea Kayaking Scotland of all relevant medical conditions that may affect your ability to take part in your chosen course/ expedition.
  • You understand that there is a certain level of risk associated with sea kayaking.
  • You agree to abide by such regulations and instructions as the instructors and guides of Sea Kayaking Scotland advise.
  • You accept that venues for activities may have to be changed at short notice.

Making a Booking

A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking.

For short courses and day paddles (eg any trips of three days or less duration) the final balance is payable by eight weeks before the start date, unless you are booking within eight weeks of the expedition or course start date in which case the full amount is payable.

For longer expeditions (four days plus duration) the final balance is payable by twelve weeks before the start date, unless you are booking within twelve weeks of the expedition or course start date in which case the full amount is payable.

Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque, by credit or debit card via Paypal, or from your paypal account.

To ensure we have sufficient information you must either complete the online booking form or print out the Expedition Booking Form and post it back to us.

We will contact you to discuss your booking.

Cancellation Policy – expeditions (four days length and upwards)

Once you have paid your deposit (or full amount, if booking within twelve weeks of the expedition start date) you have entered into a legal contract with us.

If you cancel your booking within twelve weeks of the start date, you are liable for 100% of the cost of the expedition.

Cancellation Policy – day paddles, weekends and courses of three or less days duration

Once you have paid your deposit (or full amount, if booking within eight weeks of the expedition start date) you have entered into a legal contract with us.

If you cancel your booking within eight weeks of the start date, you are liable for 100% of the cost of the expedition.

Cancellation by Sea Kayaking Scotland

If we have to cancel a course you will be entitled to a full refund or transfer to a comparable course or trip.

Further terms and conditions

All the information provided on our website is provided in good faith and is accurate at the time of publishing.

We will sometimes make use of photos of course members in our advertising both in print and on the internet. If you would rather not be photographed please let us know.

The terms and conditions laid down by Sea Kayaking Scotland are covered by Scottish law.
